Artificial intelligence now supports us in many areas of our lives, so we cannot avoid learning how to use AI.
This technology can also help us better understand learning content at school and university. So, it’s not about cheating while learning, but about how to use AI correctly for learning. Many educational institutions, such as the University of Münster in Germany, now provide their students with preventative guidelines for the sensible and legally correct use of AI in their studies. Major news services such as The Guardian also provide information on how ChatGPT can be used helpfully and legally safely at university.
In this blog post, I want to show you how to use ChatGPT or Google Gemini to learn math.
The big progress begins with how I communicate my misunderstood mathematical equation to the computer. In the past, we had to laboriously enter the equation via the keyboard, now we simply take a photo of the handwritten equation and get the solution immediately in seconds.

To start our little AI project, we have to open one AI tool. Here we can use for example Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini or ChatGPT. For a few requests the free versions are sufficient, if you want to use the AI more often then you have to use the paid version.
I will go one with Google Gemini. Then take a photo of your equation and select it over the + Button below.
Then you have to write the instructions for the AI.

Create math tasks and results with AI
At the end of this blog post, we would like to ask the AI whether it can create some equivalent tasks with the direct solution.
